We have unboxed the Swopper active seating stool and are evaluating and reviewing it now.

First impressions:

Very bouncy, by far the most vertical "play" of any of the active seating chairs I have tried.

High-quality construction. Feels sturdy, solid, and safe.

Attractive, minimalist design.

The Swopper active-seating stool is a very dynamic active-seating solution that lets you move through a wide range of motions.

Height range (measured at top of front edge of seat surface):

  • Low: 20 1/2″
  • High:  26″

Seat diameter: 16″

The Swopper site reports a height adjustment range of 22″ to 27 1/2″ – they measure to to the top of the uncompressed seat surface; we measure from the seam at the front edge of the seat. The seats of the other stools and chairs in this category don’t compress as much as this one, so we think our measurement offers a more apples-to-apples comparison with similar products.

A Swopper Air version offers a softer seat surface for $200 more, $899.

Available in Black, Blue, Gray, Orange, and Red, all at same price.

  • keeping balance on the sprung seat encourages constant slight motion
  • easy assembly, no tools required
